White Hats: Syria’s Heroic Women Patching up the Pieces

The White Hats are a group of Muslim and Christian women  based in the Qalamon Hills, close to the religious pilgrim towns of Saidnaya and Malaoulah, both of which witnessed unspeakable war crimes by the invaders. Most of these women have had relatives murdered, either in the line of duty, defending their country and their communities, or simply killed out of hand by the rebels. You have to meet and see them to even begin to imagine what they and theirs have suffered.

Despite the crimes the rebels have committed against them, these women soldier on,  giving succour not only to each other but to their communities which the West has largely abandoned.  Though our leaders have abandoned them we should not. We are bound in conscience to stand with them and their communities.
